Song 1: My Little Donkey

My Little Donkey is a song about a good friend of mine who’s a little donkey. It was inspired by a story about a drummer and a donkey.

See that donkey out on the rocks
he’s dressed up like a continental soldier
he’s my little donkey
and he can’t help getting any older

the drummer boy’s trying to push him off a cliff
but he’s my little donkey and he deserves to live

hey hey
my little donkey
hey hey
my little donkey
hey hey
my little donkey

he’s passed through straights
he’s passed through narrows
he’s passed through a desert
filled with chinese arrows

hey hey
my little donkey
hey hey
my little donkey
hey hey
my little donkey

i seen him walk
across the beach
i seen him go
where others couldn’t reach

hey hey
my little donkey
hey hey
my little donkey
hey hey
my little donkey

he’s packed to the brim
with persian salt
he’s my little donkey
and it’s not his fault

donkey hey hey donkey
my little donkey
